  • Follow the Village Guide at all times
  • Respect shared spaces and other families
  • Contribute to the calm, screen-light rhythm of the village

  • With reasonable notice (e.g., for cleaning, maintenance, or inspections); or
  • Immediately without notice in an emergency (e.g., fire, flood, suspected safety risk).

8. Damage & Breakages

Guests are liable for the cost of repairing or replacing any damage to property, furnishings, or equipment caused by their party
(including children).

We will inform you of any damage and provide a reasonable estimate of repair or replacement costs. These costs shall be paid
within 14 days of notification.

9. Children & Parental Responsibility

ReCreation is a parent-present village.

Except during supervised Nature Club sessions, parents and guardians remain fully responsible for their children at all times,
including around the river, woods, fire, and play areas, and must remain contactable and on or near the site as described in the
Village Guide.

10. Health, Safety & Medical Needs

ReCreation is a rural property in a natural valley, including a river, woodland, and open ground.

  • You acknowledge that outdoor and nature-based activities carry inherent risks and that you take part in them with awareness of
    those risks.
  • Please tell us in writing at least 14 days before your Stay of any medical, dietary, or accessibility needs in
your party. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate needs disclosed after that date, but we cannot guarantee it.

11. Photography & Media

We may occasionally capture photos or video at the village. Media preferences, including for children, are recorded at booking
and respected in line with the Village Guide and our Privacy Policy.

12. Our Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so under French law, including for
death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Subject to that:

  • We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment, travel disruption,
additional accommodation costs, or lost wages.
  • We are not liable for loss or damage that arises from a failure to follow the Village Guide or reasonable safety guidance.

13. Insurance Recommendation

We strongly recommend that guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:

  • Cancellation or curtailment
  • Medical expenses and repatriation
  • Loss or damage to personal property

14. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, fire,
flood, illness, or government measures.

In such cases:

  • We will work with you in good faith on a postponement or fair resolution.
  • If the event continues for more than 14 days, we may cancel the Stay and offer either a credit for a future
Stay (valid for 18 months) or a refund of sums paid for the affected Stay (less any non-recoverable costs).

15. Governing Law, Disputes & Mediation

These Terms are governed by French law. If you have a concern, please contact us first at contact@recreationnation.org so we can try to resolve it directly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved with us directly, you may be entitled to refer it, free of charge, to a consumer mediator
(médiateur de la consommation) under French law. You may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution
(ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
